Welcome! I’m the Southsea Wanderer.

Based in Southsea on the south coast of England, I have a serious, permanent case of wanderlust.  As a travel copy writer and PR-type-person with 20+ years of experience in the wonderful travel industry, my job has given me the chance to visit some of the most inspiring destinations around the world.

With a love for adrenaline-fuelled activities, offbeat events and hidden gems, I’ve written for a range of national and international publications since 2002. Among other adventures, I’ve held my breath in a shark cage in South Africa, canoed down the Zambezi alongside crocodiles, volunteered at a ‘bonanza castle’ in Canada, practiced yoga in the rice paddies of Bali and fired at shooting ranges in California.

Luckily I’m equally passionate about the beautiful waterfront city that I live in, which keeps me satisfied when the day job doesn’t allow so much wandering. I also write local articles for the amazing Strong Island.
